Dating your wife after she cheated on you is one of those things that most men never envision happening. You, my friend, are not most men. You love your wife deeply and can’t imagine spending a lifetime without waking up by her side every morning.

That doesn’t mean that you’re a floor mat or that you have no spine. What it does mean is that you know the condition of your heart well. In fact, you know it well enough to understand that you aren’t ready to face the rest of your life without her in it.

So, what do you need to know about dating your wife after she cheated on you so that your relationship doesn’t end up right where you left off?

1) Be the man she fell in love with all over again. You know what life was like when you were both getting to know each other and trying to impress? It’s time to return to those days. In fact, your dating life and your marriage should be filled with days when you’re both trying to impress each other. It’s when you stop trying to impress or surprise that relationships get old, stale, and tired. These are the times when she might begin to feel a little taken for granted. If you want to avoid that this time around keep the surprises coming and be your charming best.

2) Stop sweating the small stuff. The second time around is when you really need to take the time to smell the roses and enjoy the journey. Relax and enjoy the time the two of you get to spend together. Don’t work yourself up into a frenzy of trying to make sure everything is perfect. Perfect isn’t necessary at all for either of you. Good, fun, and easygoing are all the way to go.

3) Have a plan of some sort. While you don’t have to have a mission statement and work doggedly towards a specific goal, you need to have a goal and a general direction you are working towards by dating. Setting goals gives you a little time to figure out if you want to move forward and get there or move on without her. It’s much better for both of you than lingering in limbo and never going anywhere. You need to be going somewhere as a couple or you need to part ways. It really is as simple as that in love and marriage – especially when dating your cheating wife for the second time around.

Second chances are wonderful if you can move beyond the fact that your wife cheated. Even if she is afraid to dive back into your marriage you can still get your ex back.
